Check out My Mock Draft 2.0 Made on 10/31/2024. Draft order is based on current NFL standings and not representative of my beliefs of end of the year rankings.
Stay Tuned for Parts 2, 3 and 4 of my Mid-Season Report Coming this weekend!
1. Shedeur Sanders QB Colorado
Carolina Panthers
Shedeur goes to the Panthers here as the best Quarterback in a weak QB class. Not to say Sanders won't make it in the NFL but he will need some time. Hopefully the Panthers learned from their last mistake and let Bryce Young or Andy Dalton start for a season and give Sanders the time to adjust to the NFL level while the team continues to build around him.
2. Cameron Ward QB Miami
Tennessee Titans
The Titans fully committed to the Will Levis experiment this season and have the #2 pick to thank for it. Taking Cam Ward has a great upside as a Quarterback with a true "IT Factor" the Titans have never had. Cam Ward goes out and wins games with his arm and has the potential to give the Titans the best Quarterback they've had in a very long time.
3. Will Campbell OT LSU
New England Patriots
Drake Maye has shown enough flashes of being a great QB for the Patriots to build around and the first thing you should do when building around a young QB is protect him. Will Campbell has been a LT starter for Will Campbell since his freshman year and is as sound a pass blocker you'll find in this draft. Not only that but has shown he can get to elite run blocking levels as well.
4. Jalen Milroe QB Alabama
Las Vegas Raiders (Trade with New York Jets)
Trade: LV receives Pick #4
The Raiders need a Quarterback more than any team in this draft so they trade up to get Jalen Milroe. Milroe is not a finished product but has been very productive in two years as starter for Alabama. Similar to Jalen Hurts coming out of college, Milroe is an exceptional athlete who will thrive in a college-like system with check downs and timing patterns, but more than Hurts has shown great deep throw accuracy.
5. Travis Hunter CB Colorado
Jacksonville Jaguars
Perhaps the best athlete to come out of the draft since Bo Jackson, Travis Hunter has done things never before seen in College Football. Mainly, playing both sides of the ball to the point of not missing a single play of the game several times this year. Not only that but is playing both sides at an elite level. Hunter most likely won't play both sides to that extent in the NFL but has the ability to do so sparingly and completely change the Jaguars for a long time.
6. Tetairoa McMillan WR Arizona
New Orleans Saints
Quite possibly the best offensive player in this draft. McMillan is a 6'5" jump ball receiver with great hands and good speed. Adding to that he's shown better route running this season and the toughness to get 15 targets in a game and keep gunning for more. The Saints desperately need another WR for whoever they trot out on the field at QB for next season and McMillan could be a game changer for them.
7. James Pearce Jr. Edge Tennessee
New York Jets (Trade with Las Vegas Raiders)
The Jets were able to win last night but still have a lot to work on this upcoming offseason. One of the biggest needs is edge rusher with Will MacDonald being injured and Haason Reddick's contract dispute and James Pearce Jr. may be the best edge rusher in a few years. With a build that makes him versatile on the defensive line and great hand usage where he can use power or finesse moves, Pearce would instantly be the best edge threat on an already impressive defense.
8. Mason Graham DT Michigan
Cleveland Browns
Graham goes here to the Browns at 8 but is a true Top-5 talent and a gem in the draft. The best player on Michigan's defense this year and in last year's National Championship team, Graham pairing up with Myles Garrett would instantly make the Browns' d-line amongst the best in the league. Not only can he rush the passer form the interior but he's also the best run stopper in the draft.
9. Will Johnson CB Michigan
New York Giants
Another gem that deserves to be drafted closer to the Top-5, Will Johnson may is the best zone corner in the draft and no slouch in man-to-man either. The Giants could use this pick to FINALLY find a Daniel Jones replacement, but I think they'd rather take a LOCK for a Pro Bowl player than take a chance on another risky QB.
10. Kelvin Banks Jr. OT Texas
Chicago Bears (Trade with Miami Dolphins)
Trade: Bears receive Pick #10
The Bears trade up here to secure their offensive tackles for the next few years with Kelvin Banks Jr. Along with Darnell Wright on the right side, Banks Jr. on the left will accentuate both players strengths, with Banks Jr. being a pure pass blocker. Giving Caleb Williams the best protection will be detrimental to reaching his potential and Banks Jr. could really complete this offense. Worth a second round pick for sure.
