You know what the best part of the NFL offseason is? The draft—watching new talent rise and speculating who’ll become the next face of the league. But a close second? Looking back at the chaos, the comebacks, and the clutch moments from last season and ranking the quarterbacks who made it all happen. So without further ado, here are my picks for the top 10 most skilled and formidable QBs of the 2024-25 season. Interested in the wide receiver take? Click here.
Matthew Stafford

Stats | 18 Games Played — QBR 64.7 — 65.5 pct — 4,295 pass yds — 45 rush yds — 7.3 ypa — 24 pass TDs — 8 INT
Fifteen years later, Stafford remains paragon of hard work and availability. Despite having a roster riddled with injuries to key contributors like Puka and Cupp, the Rams managed to sneak into the playoffs regardless. You could make the case the Stafford should be ranked higher, but he's had bouts of inconsistency. His highs were exceptionally high, but his lows were equally pronounced. At 37, Stafford's clock is ticking. I'm just grateful for everything he's delivered.
Jalen Hurts

Stats | 18 Games Played — QBR 65.6 — 69.2 pct — 3,629 pass yds — 824 rush yds — 8.0 ypa — 23 pass TDs — 6 INT - 19 rush TDs
Coming in hot at number 9 is reigning Super Bowl champ, Jalen Hurts. The former 2nd round pick as proven to be every bit as capable as any QB in the NFC, putting up career highs in percentages. Largely because of Saquon Barkley, the Eagles didn't need to rely on their passing as much. However, Hurts' championship caliber performance in the postseason showed fans that he performs his best in pivotal moments, throwing for 221 yards and three touchdowns in a revenge title win against the Chiefs. The future looks bright for Hurts, and he's building up an Eagles All-Time Team caliber resume.
Baker Mayfield
Stats | 18 Games Played — QBR 61.6 — 71.8 pct — 4,685 pass yds — 401 rush yds — 8.0 ypa — 43 pass TDs — 16 INT — 3 rush TDs
Baker's 2023 performance was ELITE, leaving fans and analysts speculating if he could repeat his performance—Buccaneers fans got just what they wanted. Mayfield ended up surpassing his own records, posting career highs in touchdowns and passing yards. Although the team didn't make it far in the postseason, Mayfield's individual performance was bar none, finishing the elimination match against Washington with an 83% completion percentage. At 29, Mayfield still has a long career ahead, and his recent performance hints at even greater heights to come. The Future looks exceedingly bright for Bucs fans.
Patrick Mahomes

Stats | 19 Games Played — QBR 67.6 — 67.3 pct — 4,607 pass yds — 389 rush yds — 6.9 ypa — 31 pass TDs — 13 INT — 4 rush TDs
Don't be fooled by the championship loss, Mahomes pushed a moderate offense to a Super Bowl berth, securing the top spot in the AFC and going out with poise. However, his production and statistics have taken a bit of a downfall, and I can't in good conscience even put him in the top five. As long as Mahomes remains consistent, you can almost guarantee that the Chiefs will be playing into late January, and I think that fans can still expect a thrill next season.
Jordan Love
Stats | 16 Games Played — QBR 69.3 — 62.9 pct — 3,601 pass yds — 93 rush yds — 7.9 ypa — 25 pass TDs — 14 INT — 1 rush TD
It wasn't easy deciding on the 5th or 6th spot for this pick. Jordan Love has ARRIVED. The once relatively unknown first round pick that only played 10 games across his first three seasons has developed into a Pro Bowl caliber threat, clinching the 3rd ranking in the NFC North for Green Bay and securing the team an 11-6 record. I was disappointed with how the Packers' season ended, and Love struggled with interceptions on multiple occasions. But following a four year, $220 million dollar extension Love signed off on in the summer, it's clear that the Packers believe in his work ethic, and so do I.
Jared Goff
Stats | 18 Games Played — QBR 68.4 — 71.3 pct — 4,942 pass yds — 63 rush yds — 8.5 ypa — 38 pass TDs — 15 INT
This was easily Jared Goff's best season, in my opinion. At 30 years old, Goff's passing percentage was higher than it's ever been, at 72.4%. Paired up with rising stars Amon Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit's offense was unstoppable. The Lions finished with the No. 2 offense in the league and a 15-2 regular season record. Unfortunately, their postseason performance stunned the world and they were cursed with an early exit. At his core, Goff is a pocket passer, and the man either looks extremely confident on the field, or extremely uncomfortable. His game can be as unpredictable as it is brilliant, but Detroit Fans are tough and are eager for a Super Bowl appearence.
Jayden Daniels
Stats | 20 Games Played — QBR 70.6 — 68.4 pct — 4,390 pass yds — 1,026 rush yds —7.4 ypa — 30 pass TDs — 10 INT — 7 rush TDs
Jayden Daniels emerged in 2023 as one of the greatest college football players of recent memory, and his transition to the pros has been just as elite. It's been fun to watch. In a historic rookie season, Daniels put up numbers some veterans have only dreamed of. The reigning Offensive Rookie Of The Year propelled Washington to a deadly 7-2 start, never folding or appearing to be phased under pressure. The Commanders have been seemingly reborn, with Daniels at the helm of the franchise. I have no reason to doubt that this squad has the potential to find itself playing for a Super Bowl title in the upcoming years.
Now for the top 3...
Joe Burrow

Stats | 17 Games Played — QBR 74.7 — 70.6 pct — 4,918 pass yds — 201 rush yds — 7.5 ypa — 43 pass TDs — 9 INT — 2 rush TDs
If the statistics won't tell you that Joe Burrow was DEADLY this season, I will. In what's been a sneaky, under the radar surprise, Burrow led the NFL in NUMEROUS offensive categories, including total passing yards and passing touchdowns. His usage rate was higher than any other QB in the AFC North, and a shotty Cinncinatti defense forced Burrow to carry the Bengals all season long. The man carries eight all-time Bengals records, and is eagerly making a case for himself as one of the greatest QBs in Bengals history. At just 28 years of age, Burrow's contract is only halfway up, and it's scary imagining what performances he'll put up next season. If the front office fixes up the Bengals' defense, this team could be a massive threat.
2. Josh Allen

Stats | 20 Games Played — QBR 77.3 — 64.6 pct — 4,367 pass yds — 636 rush yds 7.7 ypa — 32 pass TDs — 6 INT — 14 rush TDs
I know, I know. He's the MVP. But individually, I think this is a fair spot for him, and a great one at that. Allen has earned the league's respect as the better running quarterbacks in the league, pushing the Bills to a 13-4 record and making them the first team in NFL history to take down two 15 win teams in the regular season. On December 29th, he scored his 65th career rushing touchdown, tying Thurman Thomas for most in franchise history, and by the seasons end he became the first player in NFL history with 35 or more passing and rushing touchdowns in FIVE straight seasons. The Bills ultimately wreak havoc in the AFC East, and despite a brutal blowout dealt by the Chiefs in the postseason, this team has all the necessary tools to run it back next year.
Lamar Jackson

Stats | 18 Games Played — QBR 77.3 — 67.3 pct — 4,601 pass yds — 1,035 rush yds 8.8 ypa — 45 pass TDs — 5 INT — 4 rush TDs
This was a no brainer for me. Was he robbed of MVP? Let's put it this way — Jackson's numbers this season were better than his MVP campaign by a large margin. Leading the NFL in passing and rushing averages, Jackson ran for 1,000 yards and powered Baltimore to a 12-5 record. On Christmas Day, Jackson surpassed his idol, Michael Vick, as the NFL's all time leading QB rusher. He's been hailed as the best running QB in the NFL and remains a generational talent, a duel-threat capable of playing must see
TV caliber ball every single night. It's scary imagining what the Ravens' record book will look like over the next few seasons.
That's a wrap, and something tells me this list is going to look VERY different in a year's time. How do my picks stack up with yours? What would you change? Let me know down below!
You've reached the end zone,
Until next time 🏈
