Chiefs honor and recognize high school coaches weekly

Kansas City- Each week the Chiefs recognizes two high school coaches in the Kansas City area that displays leadership qualities on and off the field.


This week, the Chiefs will recognize Park Hill South High School coach Alan Wilmes and Lawrence High School coach Steve Rampy. Both of these coaches showcased their ability to lead by example and help their schools on and off the field. Each of these coaches will be given a $500 player health and safety grant from the Hunt Family Foundation, an autograph football by the Chiefs'head coach Andy Reid, and a certificate of recognition. Both coaches have qualified for Eric Driskell Coach of the Year Award, which will be awarded at the end of the year.


“Having our program awarded Chiefs Coach of the Week is a great honor,” Wilmes said. “Our players played a great game, and our coaches did an excellent job preparing our team all week. All the credit goes to them. The kids battled through adversity against a great opponent, North Kansas City. I couldn't be prouder of our team and program.”
